What it is:
The Canada Greener Homes Grant is a federal government program aimed at raising the energy efficiency of residential buildings, reducing greenhouse emissions, and stimulating the growth of a greener economy.
The grant can cover up to $5,000 of your home improvement costs.
Glass-only or sash replacement for windows and door slab or insert replacement for doors, without a frame replacement are ineligible for the grant.
In order to be eligible for the Grant, homeowner’s must complete a pre-and post retrofit EnerGuide evaluation with a Registered Energy Advisor.

Homeowner's Grant Journey:
What it is:
The loan, unlike the grant, has to be repaid.
Max Loan Amount — $40,000
Min Loan Amount — $5,000
Repayment term — 10 years, interest-free.
Loan type — unsecured personal loan on approved credit.
In order to apply for the CHG Loan, you have to follow the same process as for the grant. That is, finding a registered energy advisor and conducting an energy audit.
